giCentre at IEEE Information Visualization

Jason Dykes, Jo Wood and Aidan Slingsby presented their work IEEE Information Visualization conference this autumn in Sacramento, California. This prestigious meeting has a 24% acceptance rate and so it was particularly impressive for the giCentre to be represented so strongly with contributions on using Google Earth for visualization and visualizing local statistics.


The two papers are entitled 'Geographically Weighted Visualization: Interactive Graphics for Scale-Varying Exploratory Analysis' and 'Interactive Visual Exploration of a Large Spatio-temporal Dataset: Reflections on a Geovisualization Mashup'. They appear in the November / December issue of IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (Vol. 13, No. 6) pp. 1161-1168, 1176-1183 :
