The CHI Centre offers a wide range of educational and training programmes, catering both for traditional degree course students and for mature professionals. (A further range of MSc courses is offered within other Departments of the School of Informatics).Masters programmes
This course has been adapted to meet the IT needs of the healthcare community at large – it covers information science and technology applied to all health-related and healthcare data. The course is designed for two groups:- healthcare professionals (including doctors, nurses, radiographers, IT managers, MLSOs) who want to develop and implement IT in their work place
- computing professionals/engineers who want to gain a broad introduction to healthcare aspects so as to be able to work more effectively in a healthcare computing environment.
MSc in Health Care Technologies
This modular course provides postgraduate and post-experience educational opportunities for clinicians, scientists, engineers and related professionals engaged in the Health Service and associated industries who require advanced knowledge and skills within the broad field of health care technologies. By offering the course on a modular basis, the student will be able to design a coherent portfolio of modules that meets both their own professional needs as well as those of their employers in the Health Service and related industries.PhD/MPhil programmes
The CHI Centre offers opportunities for research training in medical and health informatics and related subjects. Most research is carried out in co-operation with clinical and health care institutions. Research can be carried out either in the CHI Centre, in conjunction with partner clinical groupings, or in the workplace.
Special schemes are available for students wishing to undertake their research primarily outside the UK.

Short Courses
The CHI Centre provides a range of short post-experience courses, meeting the need for professionals updating and introducing new concepts, methods and techniques.
Courses are provided for health care professionals, managers scientist and engineers and can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of particular groups.
