Advertising Placements and Presentations
To advertise a placement to our students employers can contact The Professional Liaison Unit Tel:+44(0)20 7040 8349.A short description of the work being offered and any specific skills the student requires, method of application (e.g. CV or application form) and closing date are all we need to advertise a placement. Some background information on the organisation, location, likely duration of placement and salary are useful too.
Many employers have well-developed placement schemes which provide appropriate professional experience for students. Generally this means providing students with work which requires them to apply knowledge acquired during their course to fulfill a work role and develop technical skills. An employer who is considering employing placement students for the first time is welcome to contact us Tel: +44(0)20 7040 0200 to discuss the work proposed.
Employers can interview suitable applicants either at their own sites or, if more convenient, at the University.
Students on placement are also subject to normal employment arrangements, which are made between the employer and student directly.
Our students are bound by the National Centre for Work Experience’s Code of Good Practice. This requires a student to honour an offer and not to attempt to back out of it in favour of another.
