The Professional Pathway Placements
The Professional Pathway is an innovative mode of study, which is being offered as an option to undergraduate computing students at City. It allows them to transfer to relevant four-day-a-week employment after a period of study and complete their degrees by a combination of day-release and e-learning.
The Pathway is for students who want relevant work experience alongside study and is based on feedback from students about the value of placement work in helping them develop as IT professionals.
The Pathway scheme builds on our success in placing students with employers.
The benefits
- improves the education, employability and career prospects of students.
- provides accelerated entry into the workplace, producing well-educated graduates who better meet employers' requirements.
- allows the project work of students to be directly related to workplace issues.
- will be attractive to those who want relevant work experience alongside study and those who, for personal financial reasons, need substantial paid employment during their studies.
