The Professional Pathway Scheme

The Professional Pathway placements are for up to four days per week. Employers can opt to employ a Professional Pathway student for a fixed period, typically 12 months, or employers can benefit from the students' contribution on a continuing basis for the full three years of the programme and beyond. Some employers choose to start with a fixed-time placement and convert it to continuing employment relationship once you have proved your value.

Pathway students take the same course (same modules and exams) as their full-time peers (but at a slower rate of progression) and can expect to graduate in four calendar years (including the first year of full-time study). This is the same time as their full-time peers, who take a thick sandwich placement between their second and third years of study. Full time students attend the University for a 30 week academic year whereas Pathway students have an extended 45 week year.

Your first year of study will be full-time and your eligibility to join the Pathway will depend on you performing well in the first year of the course.
