MSc in Geographic Information Management
Entry requirements
- Each application is considered on its merits and is given full consideration by admissions staff.
- The usual minimum entrance requirement is a good second class honours degree from a UK university (either in a cognate discipline eg geography, GIS, computer science, social science, informatics etc) or another type of degree combined with at least a year's experience of using GI), a recognised equivalent from an accredited overseas institution or an equivalent professional qualification.
- We will also consider applicants without a first degree but with extensive professional experience of GI or related issues. This would typically be at least 5 years of relevant experience and include activities such as managing a GIS implementation or database, evaluation of GI needs, or management of a team of GI users.
- Applicants should have good professional English. For students whose first language is not English, an IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL score of 100 (internet-based) 600 (paper-based) or 250 (computer-based version) is required.
- Previous academic and commercial experience will also be considered.
The Programmes Office team are happy to advise prospective students on which course best suits their interests and requirements.
