The School of Informatics welcomes international students

City University's success is demonstrated by its graduate employment record; fifth in the UK for graduate employability (The Times Good University Guide 2008). We are also the sixth most popular university in the UK for student applications.

Our reputation extends worldwide: of almost 10,000 City University London students, more than 40 per cent are international, the majority of these from outside the European Union.

The School of Informatics at City University has delivered a professional education to over two thousand computing and IT students since the millennium. We are at the forefront of international excellence and leadership in education and research for the information and computing professions.

Our professionally-oriented portfolio of degrees and industry experience equip graduates with the vital skills and knowledge required for a successful start or development of their careers.

Students also benefit from working in a £12m state-of-the-art, purpose-built space in City University's historic College Building, which includes specialist teaching rooms, a SAP Product lab and a high-tech Human Computer Interaction Design lab supported by The Vodafone UK Foundation.



International Students Welcome Event - Tuesday 23 September

All new incoming international students are welcome to come along. The event will consist of English afternoon tea with the Vice-Chancellor and will be an opportunity for new students to be welcomed to the University, to hear from the VC and to meet relevant members of staff. Scholarships for international students

The School of Informatics offers a number of scholarships of £2,000 for both home and overseas well-qualified postgraduate students on our portfolio of one year full-time master's courses.

Postgraduate six month internships

As an IT postgraduate student in the School of Informatics you have an unrivalled opportunity to gain six months of professional IT industry experience as part of your masters degree and complete a client-based project.


Working in the UK after your degree: the International Graduates Scheme

The International Graduate Scheme (IGS) was launched in May 2007 to allow for non-EEA nationals who have successfully completed a UK degree, a Masters, a Postgraduate Diploma, a Postgraduate Certificate, or a PhD within the previous twelve months to qualify for work in the UK.
