Student Profile - Christos Gatzidis

Christos Gatzidis Christos Gatzidis is a PhD student in the Department of Information Science and is receiving an EPSRC Industrial CASE Studentship.

My PhD research focuses on the development of an automatic/semi-automatic collection of modelling tools and plug-ins that will attempt to address both the problem of modelling urban spaces accurately in 3D and also creating content for navigation-oriented, location-based applications that run on mobile devices. Studying at the School Of Informatics for City University has exposed me to the guidance of many expert academics with vast research experience in this field as well as industry partners such as ALCATEL UK, who I am collaborating with under a scholarship scheme that partly sponsors my research.
